Comedy/Solo Performance

When it comes to original work, Hannah loves absurdist comedy and political satire.

She is inspired by the work of Karen Finley, Gracie Gardner, Jen Silverman, Adrienne Maree Brown, Clare Barron, Taylor Mac, and more.

In 2022, Hannah’s first fully produced project, WHEN I GROW UP EVERYONE WILL LOVE ME, was awarded the Carter Towbin Prize for Theater and Performance at Bard College. Since then they’ve performed at venues around Chicago including The Second City, The Annoyance Theater & Bar, Davenport’s Piano Bar, and the Lincoln Lodge.

Teaching

Hannah has taught young actors in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

As a teacher, Hannah’s primary goal is to foster a safe and joyous classroom for students of all skill levels. Favorite classroom topics include introductions to psychophysical acting, heightened text analysis, and monologue coaching.

Some recent teaching highlights include the high school acting program at Interlochen Arts Camp and co-creating an introductory acting intensive for middle school students with the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival.

“Today I learned that adult theatre kids can be smart.” - Student, 13

The Shop

Hannah has recently joined the team of THE SHOP, a Chicago-based artist salon created by Jake Griffith.

The Shop uses a combination of in-person and virtual meetings to connect early career theatre artists with community, workshops, and tools to develop new work. The Shop’s newest project, a biweekly writing workshop, kicked into gear on February 3rd.
